About Me
My name is Heidi Helen Pilypas. You can call me Heidi Helen or just simply Heidi. I am a designer from Adelaide, South Australia, who works on iOS apps. I previously worked for Sketch as a Product Support Specialist.
44 Pixels Studio is my business name for my independent design work. The name 44 Pixels came to me one day like lightning. It struck me that 44 pixels are the recommended touch target for iOS and that 44 is also my favourite number. 44 on a digital alarm clock also looks a lot like my initials HH when upside down. Pretty perfect if you ask me.
I’ve always liked writing too. In fact, growing up, my teachers fully expected me to become a published author. I used to write and illustrate my own choose-your-own-adventure books for my classmates. While I haven’t written any fiction for a long time, I am very interested in sharing my thoughts on tech, design, apps and social media.
The Impetus
After recent events on social media, I’m inspired to create my own newsletter. I’ve built a community of over 7,000 followers on Twitter (@heidi_helen), but I don’t know if my favourite bird site will be around forever. I’ve recently been reading a lot of reporting from
in on the Twitter takeover. I have a lot of thoughts of my own I would like to share.Thanks for joining me on the journey
